After a massive upgrade to my computer, my Ethernet connection has stopped working. I have a netgear router (I can't find the exact model), but I doubt that's the problem as it worked fine before my upgrade. I installed an MSI B250M motherboard, and an i5-7600k. Every time I start up my computer I have the ability to do a google search, but that's where my internet capabilities end. If I take my Ethernet cord out and put it back in it will usually work after a few tries. All of my drivers are up to date, I have tried many admin cmd commands with ipconfig and netsh, scanned with multiple antivirus programs, and set up google dns but none of it is working. I'm just about at the end of my rope with this, I'd really appreciate some help.

Use a different disk. Otherwise, you have to backup your data. Most applications will have to be reinstalled. Downloaded games may still be OK.

I will try that, thanks for the help. I was planning to put win10 on an ssd at some point anyway :)

It's only made it worse. I reinstalled all of my drivers and Win10, but now the Ethernet connection won't continue to work even after I take it in and out.

I did not install on an SSD, I decided to do a clean install and just backup my necessary files. I downloaded from Intel Nvidia and Msi's sites. There is one question mark in "other devices" on PCI simple communications controller that I'm having trouble finding the driver for

I have a BAZOOKA b250m, I installed all the drivers off of the page for the board but the simple communications controller is still missing a driver

I initially installed the chpset driver from Intel, but I went back and reinstalled it off of the page for my motherboard
