Ethernet or 5Ghz WIFI for gaming in a crowded building (26 people)

Should I connect with ethernet or use a router with a 5Ghz band to get the best ping possible in overwatch and bf1 while gaming in a crowded building's (26 people) internet signal? It is supposed to be high speed and unlimitted.

Also, should I try and get the room nearest to the main internet cable in order to get the best ping possible or does it not make a difference?

Moreover, what is the best option to get the less ping spikes possible?

Wifi is higher ping than ethernet. Get ethernet if you can.

Ethernet, no question.
Distance, up to 100 meters, does not matter.

What really matters is what is upstream of where you connect your ethernet cable. Which you probably have no control over.
