So ever since I got my xbox in my room I had to have a Ethernet cable running from my kitchen to my loft conversion! I have to use a 40m cable as it goes from my kitchen through the wall which goes in the living room then upstairs following the stairs and the next flight of stairs in to my room and it has always bothered me since it just does not look nice and I have to use cable clips which sometimes come out after a long time as well as the wires sagging after months and I've always thought about getting a Ethernet port in my room. I know you can use wireless adapters but I just choose not to as I do not want to use wireless as the speed will be slower and I am with BT. I know have an xbox one which uses wifi and I know have a pc. I asked my parents before and they could ask but dont think they have it? If i were to call BT could they manage to put a Ethernet port in my room where the wires would be inside the walls or would they do it going outside of the house then going into? Plus since we need to get the latest version for the BT router I am going to ask if we can get the Ethernet cables changed to Cat5e same for the Ethernet cable I will use in my room.

Solution
Easiest way to install Ethernet cables in new rooms is to drill out the wall of whatever room your router is, run the cables along the outside walls, and then drill into your room. Most internet providers will offer this, but it will cost.

This will not be cheap. It will involve holes in the wall, paint, patching, etc, etc.
