Ethernet port only works if the cable is in a specific position.

So, a family member tried to disconnect the ethernet cable from my pc without pulling the "lever" down and since then my ethernet port hasn't been working properly. Whenever I plugged in my ethernet cable my pc would just keep connecting and disconnecting and the port would turn the green and orange lights on and off. I managed to make it stay stable by pulling the cable up a bit and making it stay in that position (it would disconnect whenever I accidentally moved it). But now I can't make the connection stay stable, either my pc keeps connecting and disconnecting or it shows "unidentified network". I know it's the port because I connected the cable to another PC and it worked fine.

When your family member pulled out the cord in that manner they broke either the solder joint or one of the pins. If it's a desktop then you will have to install a network card for it, If it's a laptop You will have to go wireless only.

Sounds like a physically broken LAN port. The only "fix", is to replace it, or use a PCI LAN adapter.
