Ethernet speed dropped from 1000 Mbps to 100Mbps

Hi I'm running the ASUS RT-AC56S and an asus maximus viii hero mb. There weren't any issues until today, I tried resetting the router but nothing helped.

Could it be due to a bad cable? It stopped working earlier the day (no connection) and I figured the rj45 socket pins were loosen.

I have been using the same cables getting 1Gbps with no problems for the past few months

try cable switching.. also try looking at the connection lights on the i/o rear panel of mobo..
