Question Ethernet Speed running slower than my Wifi speed just today.

I run normally around 40mbs but now its between 1-6mbs on ethernet. I ran a speed test on my wifi too and that's running 25mbs. I have no clue what could cause this, I'm not very tech savvy.
My ISP cap is 50mbs.

Is the ethernet and wireless connected to the same device?
Can you boot into safe mode (with networking) and see what speeds you get over ethernet?

The ethernet and wireless are connected to the same device, to boot into safe mode I have to go into bios, right?

I booted into safe mode and there was no change on the speed.
