So I have a PS4 and I have a BT socket in my wall. I thought it was an Ethernet output but the Cat5e cable doesn't fit. Does anyone know what kind of cable I need so I can plug from the wall into my Ethernet port in either my laptop or my PS4?
It's quite possible that it's more of a telephone plug instead of a home networking female Ethernet port.
You could:
a| Find out if it's indeed wired to an ISP
b| Send a picture of the outlet to verify if it's even worth the hassle
c| You may just find less time lost by running an Ethernet cable from your router/ISP media convertor/ADSL router to your PS4.

Hi there, we haven't for a router, which is why I'm trying to find a quick fix for the next 20 days until it arrives!
