Ethernet USB adapter problem with windows

Okay so before when i had bad connection on my ps4, i plugged the ethernet cord into the ps4, then into an adapter, and then that adapter into my laptop and bridged the connection with my wifi and it made my connection 100 times better and was working perfectly. now when i do it, it says “unidentified network no internet.” how do i allow it to have internet access? Is it a windows problem?

Can you please confirm what operating system did you use earlier?

Also, can you please check if the IP address on both the participating devices are not identical? You can try assigning the IP address manually and see if the issue is fixed.
