Ethernet wont connect pls help

ok soo i just built my first pc and my ethernet wont connnect to my pc. The port lights up green and blink orange

Did you load the motherboard's driver CD which will include the network drivers?

its connected to a 2 in 1 modem and i installed the driver Realtek LAN Driver from the gigabyte website http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5216#dl

i dont have a optical drive but i did install the Realtek LAN Driver from gigabytes website http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5216#dl

its connected to a 2 in 1 modem

What make/model is this modem?
IS a signal coming in from the ISP? Does it work on any other devices?

1- does the card show up in Device Manager/Network adapters?
2- is the modem set up for DHCP LAN? what's the IP of the modem?
3- is the card getting an IP - check from command line with ipconfig command
4- do you have the correct ethernet cable connected between your computer and modem?
5- are you sure you're connected to LAN port on your modem and Not WAN?
