These are desktop replacement laptops which are not portable whatsoever. But for me, I always have my laptop on the charger anyway, so its no a problem. I'll wait for the 8/10 core version to come out first and for someone to pay for it

I see no reason a person couldn't carry this to work every morning and back home at night. The heaviest of the two laptops mentioned is only 10.582 pounds. With any good backpack that weight would hardly be noticeable.

this is the only laptop nowadays with socketed CPU. laptop with mobile cpus going forward all are BGA trash, unless pay a premium for a dumb locked mobile xeon.

At 10.5 pounds its more of "move it around the house" rather than being actually mobile. Try to walk around with even a 5 pound laptop inside a backpack for more than 10 minutes and you will understand.
