Well, that was a lie. AMD has no levers to pull in order to increase production here. Such is the price of being at another companies whim for production capacity.

I think AMD was partly relying on the simple fact that they do not own enough market share to have "similar" shortages as Nvidia had. If you have 90% less market share than your competitor, you only need 10% of the product your competitor had at release date, for similar outcomes.
