The EU Commission, Parliament and Council reached an agreement on the finalized version of the Data Protection Reform, which will improve digital privacy rights for EU citizens, cut red tape for businesses and allow law enforcement to securely share data.

When countries like France (and even America now) are pushing to remove encryption, I really wonder how much validity this document is going to have post-Paris attacks. This might be more of a way to keep their privacy out of American hands.

I believe the French have recently stated that they changed their mind about that.
The USA on the other hand, are trying to to force their abomination CISA so they can thoroughly screw its citizens by removing what little leash the NSA had.

Glad to see the EU work out something sensible.
