This issue has been experienced by almost every user who uses any ISO Creator application along with WinRAR. The reason behind such issue is that as soon as WinRAR is installed on the computer, it automatically associates all the supported file formats with it. However, WinRAR treats the ISO images a bit differently.
During the installation process, many versions of WinRAR ask the end users to select which types of files should be associated with the application. On the other hand, there are some versions of WinRAR that automatically associate the ISO files without users’ consent.
Apart from the above 2 scenarios, there might also be instances where you, as an innocent and ignorant user, have accidentally associated an ISO file with WinRAR. When this happens, all the ISO files that the computer system may have display the WinRAR icons instead of the standard ISO icons that are otherwise available to identify the ISO files.
When such association occurs, you can simply un-associate the ISO files from WinRAR. In order to do so, you are just required to initialize WinRAR application, not by double-clicking any compressed file but by starting it as a program by double-clicking its EXE file from its installation folder.
Make sure that you restart your computer after you have un-associated the ISO file type from WinRAR application in order to allow all the changes to take effect.
Below is a process using which you can easily un-associate the ISO images from the WinRAR application so that every time the files are double-clicked, they can use the proper ISO image creator application instead of opening the WinRAR interface:

- ■Log on to the Windows computer on which the ISO image file types are to be un-associated from WinRAR.
■Once logged on, click the Start button.
■From the displayed Start menu, click to expand All Programs.
■From the displayed programs/folders list, click to expand WinRAR.
■Once expanded, click WinRAR.
■On the opened WinRAR interface, clickOptions from the menu bar.
■From the displayed menu, clickSettings.
■On the opened Settings box, go to the Integration tab.
■From the displayed list of file types, uncheck the checkbox representing ISO.
■Click OK when done.
■Take appropriate action on the UAC confirmation box if displayed.
■Once the ISO file types are un-associated from WinRAR, close the application’s interface.
■Restart the computer in order to allow the changes to take effect.
