I constantly get the event 129 in windows and it is causing freezes on my computer, it says that raid port 0 has been reset. I’ve done everything I can think of to fix it, but nothing is working.

what I have done:
-updated intel Rapid Storage driver
-unplugged and plugged sata cable back in
-replaced the cable with a new one
-changed to a different sata port
-disabled port 0 in bios

i do not understand what is causing port 0 to constantly reset, even after it’s been disabled in the bios. It’s always port 0 though, and it is not in a raid configuration. I’m beginning to think the intel rapid storage driver is just broken. Any suggestions?

Have you updated your BIOS?

An actual fix, as apposed to the work-around, appears to require a BIOS update. Motherboards with the Intel RAID controller (mine happens to be ICH10R, but there are others) include BIOS code for the chip. This is called a ROM option. Upgrading the MB's BIOS includes any available upgrades to the RAID controller's BIOS. My upgrade took me from version 11.2.0.1066 of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager to version 12.0.0.1783 of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel has renamed their RAID software to Rapid Storage Technology).

Why are you running IRST if you aren't using raid?

Is there any reason I would need it without a raid array? It was already installed on the computer when I bought it, so when I reinstalled windows I just added it again.

It's a gigabyte board, the ga-b150m-gaming. The bios on it is the f1, the first version for the board. It came with that bios and I never updated it. Should I update it? I only have one bios on the board and idk if I am comfortable risking bricking my board.

I deleted irst, but I didn’t have time to use my computer to see if that fixed it. I’m still just nervous about updating the bios because I don’t want to brick my board.
