Event id 1000 and 1005 application error

Hi, I am having an issue with some programs including VLC player which crashes

Here is the message I get for error 1005:

Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing. Windows closed the program VLC media player because of this error.

I have scanned for viruses and malewares, did a boot scan, it found a few and they were all deleted.

I also followed the instructions above regarding CHKDSK,

I also used seagate seatools to check my hard drive, all tests ran fine.

I am now completely lost, VLC plays for 2-3 seconds then crashes. Other program doesnt even run, I get this error:

Problem fixed

I updated to windows 7 service pack 1 if anyone is having the same issue
