I apologize if this is posted in the wrong place, first time posting here. For a few weeks now I've been getting these "freezes". Whether I'm opening a file or just listening to music, any programs running will stop responding for atleast 3 minutes. During this freeze task manager will not open. In the event log there are pages filled with an error sign (!), reading event ID 3 and nvstor64.
A few days ago I seemed to have stopped the freezing by reinstalling my Nvidia drivers. However, I froze today and checked my event log to see that the freezing had still been happening (although I didn't notice until now). My SATA cables are firmly attached (as some have said this may be the cause). I'm also assuming this was caused by me installing a program (Kontakt 5, 5 disc installation process) as some have said they encountered this problem after using a CD.
My PC specs and the details from the event log are below, cheers for any help.

Hello,

In my case (windows 7 x64, HP Pavilion p6140sc) it looks as if the following served a solution:
Uncheck the "Enable command queing" for the respective Port in Nvidia nForce Serial ATA Controller Properties
which are accessible in Control Panel => Device Manager.

Second day without any Event Viewer errors.

Regards

JK
