[SOLVED] Event Logger Hardware error...

Just got done trying to play the new Warhammer video game, and my computer crashed after a solid hour of playing. I am currently under the impression that either my CPU is overheating or my (new) GPU is drawing too much power and is crushing my 850W power supply. I have

6950xt XFX Black Edition

5800x3D

2 x 16GB DDR4

1 Sata 500GB SSD

1 Sata 1TB SSD

Gigabyte motherboard B550

850W Bronze EVGA Power Supply.

Should I just upgrade my power supply?

Look in Reliability History.

What error codes, warnings, and informational events are being captured. Especially any that occur just before or at the time of the crashes?

If possible, take some screenshots of Reliability History and post here via imgur (www.imgur.com).

That is just a start. You can and should look in Event Viewer.

FYI:

Objective being to discover other errors that may be occurring and/or patterns of errors.

It all started happening when I installed my new Graphics card, I have had the 5800x3d for a few months before and it never happened. Do you think its possible my power supply is failing even tho its under a year old?

These are two reliability reports, one for yesterday and the other is for the whole week.

It looks like all I get is one error message saying that I didn't restart windows properly.

Yes: Increasing numbers of errors and varying errors are a sign of a faltering/failing PSU.

Take a closer look at the critical errors that occurred around October 23rd and November 15th. Look at warnings as well whenever those warning appear.

= = = =

Improper shutdowns may occur as direct result of the PSU's problems or from you having to manually "pull the plug" or otherwise shutdown the system,

Plus improper shutdowns do not allow Windows time to do the necessary housecleaning and setup in preparation for subsequent boots. And files get corrupted as well.

Per @--SID-- 's post above, try to obtain another PSU to install and test. Get help from a knowledgeable family member or friend if necessary.

Remember: do not use modular cables from other PSUs. Use only the cables that come with the test PSU.

Low end PSU with double forward on the primary. Not a PSU you want to use with a high-end GPU that can spike up to 600w for a few milliseconds. Double forward can't handle that. You need a Tier A PSU from this list.

It will take me about a week to get a 1000W power supply, but I will update when I obtain and test my system. Thank y'all.

Last night however I did I deep system clean and reseated a few things on my mobo and I can't believe I didn't see it earlier, all the fans in my case were pointing inward. So I was getting some weird cpu heat numbers in hwinfo even with a noctua d-15. So I corrected the problem and didn't run into any problems last night.

However PSU upgrade is happening regardless, not worth bricking my pc over a **** psu. [Moderator edit to remove profanity. Remember Tom's is a family friendly Forum.]

So I now have a 1200W power supply from Corsair . Originally I replaced the power supply and was crossing my fingers that I had fixed the correct part. However, I learned soon after that it was faulty ram that was giving me the hardware error. I have since replaced my ram and my computer is running great.

Thanks everyone who chimed in to help and I appreciate y'all.

Took me a while to update,

Thanks again.
