Every Game I am Lagging like a Boss

Is it my motherboard? I tried almost everything, all I can assume is its my mobo holding me back.
If it IS my motherboard, I have a budget of $90 or less this month to replace it

Would this mobo improve my issue of fps dropping and lagging in games, or even when recording? This shows 3,0 support as my gpu can support it, but my current mobo is 2.0. Thanks

I have replaced the ram from 8gb to 16gb.
Replaced the xfx 7870 with a GTX 760

I am lagging really hard when I record, and even when I dont.

Have you checked all the correct drivers are installed? And have you checked your temps? It may be a stopping the gpu going as fast if it's too hot. And do a memory test?

All drivers are indeed updated and correct. I even did a clean install after replacing the GPU.

Memory test was done and no issues were detected. While the pc can get a tad warm, its not in the danger zone, maybe a little warmer than I would like, but I am going to be getting a different cooler soon for that, I think the issue is with the motherboard, but I want to try and confirm this before I go out and buy a new MB

Laggy as in I constantly dip to 10 & 15 fps games like Infestation Survivor Stories and Dayz, when people stream it at 60FPS with the same gpu and cpu as me.

Diablo 3, in a team fight Ill hit 10 fps at times. League of Legends I can hit 60 to 120 fps vs bots, but tank to 10 fps in team fights.
I have HWMonitor I can take some more screenshots of it running

Here is with Steam, Raptr and a few other apps running with the pc having been on for several hours.

The hottest the cpu I have ever seen hit was 72 C but I am intending to get a new Cooler to help with that. I usually hit around 50 to 65C I think. But Ill go fire up the game and see what i can get after an hour.

Oh and my settings are custom. But I even try lowering all to low when I stream, without any lag change. And the monitor is 1600x900 same as game res.

The case is dusted out, I built the pc, but it is using a stock heat sink. The stock heat sink that the FX 6300 came with.

I played Rust for 12 hours straight and been out of the game for the past 10 minutes or so. Here is the HWMonitor screen shot

The case is a Thermalite Case. I dont OC or anything. It has 1 1TB Sata HDD and 1 500GB Sata HDD both at 7200 rpm, from another pc I had, but the drive has been clean installed.

Also I thought the FX 6300 wouldnt bottleneck the 760, unless the heat is the reason. I will be ordering a new one this week. I was told the Hyper Evo would be a good pick to keep my cpu cooler.

Getting a Hyper 212 Evo certainly couldn't hurt. Those temperatures are higher than they should be. I can't tell if the CPU is throttling however unless you were to look at the CPU frequencies in Task Manager or better yet: CPU-Z. This will tell us if the CPU is indeed being throttled.

I left the pc on all night after that 12 hour Rust a Thon Here is my CPu-Z reading. I am going to do a clean install of Windows 7 64bit and see how that helps, if any

I already reformatted updated all drivers are am getting 5 to 25 fps in 7 days 2 die. It hits 60 to 90 then dives right to hell shortly after. I am ordering the new Heat Sink on Wednesday, but I do not have any thermal paste remover atm, so how would I go about removing it in order to reapply the heatsink?


I thought maybe a coffee filter and rubbing alcohol would work.

On single player games, I can usually get a stable 30 to 60 fps, even in multi player games, as long as I stay clear of other players, its when I am near a crowd, usually player, but often mobs too, that my fps will drop to 5 to 10 fps.

I went ahead and removed the Heat sink and cpu, cleaned both best I could and reapplied the thermal paste, taking extra care to make sure none spilled over or was too much, but making sure the surface of the cpu was 100% covered, as when I removed it, I saw much of the cpu had little residue, so perhaps I did not add enough last time. I am gonna reinstall HWMonitor and do some light gaming tonight and heat it up more tomorrow and report back. If you want me to run that software after I test the cpu some more I will.

Average FPS is about 60 to 90 in single player games, dipping to 45 here & there. In multiplayer games, I average 45 to 60, dipping always to 5 to 25. then spiking as much as 90 fps for a few seconds.

Cable Internet 50 mbps down 11 mbps up, reset the modem, has no effect. This issue has existed over 2 separate ISP Providers

Here is a reading after playing ISS for 2 hours on Medium graphics, averaging 45 to 60 fps, only dipping to a low of 29 one time. Never saw below 29 fps
