Question Every game is slowing down for a couple seconds every so often

So in games like CSGO where it is easy to run, my FPS would drop to below 60 for a few seconds and in games like GTA, my game would just freeze for a couple seconds. The hardware in my computer is fairly old but I've never overclocked any of my components. Is there any way to fix this? I ran a userbenchmark but it didn't tell me much: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/23774737

Ran a GPU benchmark for a few minutes and there was no freezing or stuttering and was completely smooth so I think my GPU is doing fine, gonna do a CPu benchmark and see if anything happens.

Ran the CPU benchmakr and it didn't do the thing where my typing slows down and picks up after so I'm not sure what the problem is. If I'm running a game it does do that but not while the benchmarks are runnin

Can you monitor the cpu clock speeds during ur gaming sessions with maybe Intel xtu?

I feel that the game slows cuz the clock speed drops to 1ghz or 800mhz due to some thermal throttling.

The throttling maybe be cuz of the cpu thermals or mobo vrm thermals...

My CPU thermals are fine its always below 60 usually below 55. It looks like the freezing may be tied to my active core count because when it is high (at like 5 or 6 out of 6 cores), the freeze would happen and so would the keyboard slow down but it wouldn't happen every time the active core count is high

Had a second look at ur benchmark run, it's says high background activity....

How many softwares do you have running in the background? Any bloatware? Anti-virus status?

If the problem is cuz of background software, if it's unintended, a fresh install of windows and all the softwares will help.

Oh that was taken right as my computer booted up so there was stuff still starting up in the background. I'll run another one soon and post it here

But anyway, even if ur performance is good, can u take a 15min or 30min graph of cpu speed in Intel xtu when you game n post here ?

Most cases its related to cpu behavior.

This is the benchmark after I overclocked the CPU to 4.0ghz, which didn't help the random freezing at all.

That's the benchmark, and while temperatures were fine, the CPU usage seems to be spiking up and down for some reason.
This was all while playing GTA V Online, which is the game that it seems to be the most severe in out of the three I've played.

I noticed in task manager that every time these freezes happen, NVIDIA container becomes the 2nd most used CPU resource and using around 4.2% of my CPU, then shortly after, Service Host: Local Service (Network Restricted) becomes the second most used. While it isn't freezing, the two are well below 1% in CPU usage and only rise when it lags.

Some older version of the drivers had a problem with Nvidia Container and was fixed later. What version of your GPU drivers are you using?

Can't see anything with that imgur pic, resolution is very less...

Don't really need the benchmark pic. Intel xtu automatically shows the cpu usage, frequency, memory usage etc in the homepage with a 5 sec legend or so.

Just have it in the background, play ur gta v and post a 30 min or 15 min legend graph of cpu frequency, usage, power limit, mobo vrm throttling curves in the graph...

Ur 2560x1080 res screen shot is compressed in imgur and we can't see it properly. A Google drive link maybe?

playing counterstrike, system usage goes to like 13.5% when the game lags.
