I have a Toshiba satellite C50D-B- 00k laptop and when I install new ram and reset CMOS by the jcmos (the little copper thing below ram chip 2 slot that says jcmos) but my laptop still won't power on, it just turns off after 2 seconds. But for some reason every time I put my old ram back in it works again. And it's not the ram that's damaged because iv bought 2 sets and tried both and neither want to let my laptop power on. I tried everything even cleaning inside. Please help?

Go to a ram web site like kingston or crucial and access their ram upgrade app.
enter the make/model of your laptop and you will get a list of compatible ram upgrades.

Alternatively, run cpu-Z which will identify the specs of your current ram.
Pick a kit that matches as to speed, voltage and timings.
