My motherboard died the other day, so I popped in an old Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L I had laying around. It works fine, but every PCI card I add gives me a Code 10 (This device could not be started) in the device manager. I've tried:
1. Restarting
2. Updating windows
3. Installing the latest drivers for everything
4. Manually setting IRQs
5. Removing all but one card and trying that card in multiple slots
6. Uninstalling/reinstalling the device and driver
7. Showing hidden devices in device manager and uninstalling all copies of the devices in question.
8. There were no UpperFilters/LowerFilters to delete in the registry, so I couldn't do that.
9. Testing the cards in a different motherboard (they worked fine).
10. Starting windows in safe mode.
11. Manually setting IRQs in the BIOS.
12. Resetting the BIOS to fail-safe settings.
Nothing seems to be working. Are the PCI slots themselves to blame? Should I just buy a new board?
