Every recorded video with any software is choppy during playback.

I've tried OBS, Fraps, and AMD's Gaming Evolved GVR to record various games at different bitrates and framerates. Gameplay is not affected in any way, but in playback it is always choppy no matter what software I use.

In VLC, WMP, and even Adobe Premiere Pro, the video plays back choppy.

No, It's not that I need to record to a separate drive. I'm doing that. I have a 240gb SSD that I am recording to, so it's not that.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

MP4, FLV, and AVI.

CPU - Intel i3-4150 @ 3.5GHz
GPU - Radeon R9 270 2gb
RAM - 2x4gb Corsair Vengeance
Monitor - BenQ GW2255 connected with DVI
OS - Windows 8.1

Recording at 720p at 30fps. And that's what I assumed too, but my laptop with an i3 (2.4GHz I think?) records and encodes just fine.

Now that I've been trying different games with different settings, I can record 1080p 30fps in source games like Half Life 2, and they play back fine. Any higher than 30fps though, and it starts getting bad.

I'll try that OBS thread for sure though.
