Every time windows attempts to update it does this.

Computer fails to configure updates, only to finally boot up without updates installed after hours... then it does a restart at night, still failing to update.

Go to the listing for the updates, unselect them all. Select about 10 at a time, run them. See when it gets stuck.

Thanks for the reply, but I just ended up buying a new HDD and fresh installing windows on it... haven't had a problem yet!
