Hi all,

Having a strange issue with one of our Win2K servers. Upon trying to give access to a new user in the domain to a VSS project, it appears as though the Everyone group has disappered form the list of those with access. Not sure how better to describe the problem, but does anyone have any idea what would cause the system to just decide to remove Everyone just by adding a new user?

Thanks..

Not sure. Maybe that folder has file permissions applied by Group Policy computer
configuration/file permissions. You might try using the users group instead of
everyone to see if that works better. You can also enable auditing of object access
on that server and then audit "change permissions" for appropriate folders to try and
see if it will give a clue in the security log. Enabling auditing of object access
will generate a lot of access events from the system also however. --- Steve
