I'm a saddo...older generation UO player and I quite *like*
newbies as I remember being one myself and I was really
quite nice and didn't deserve killing....<I think!>

well I used to grind for gold honestly. typically going down to shame four
and killing blood elementals with my pet. that was until i heard of a nice
SCAM you can pull off on veteran uo players who just so happen to be
sympathetic to noobies. i am so glad i have usenet boards like this to
show me how to scam veteran players. in fact just this past week i made 7
million gold in a week ! what you do is basically this. make a new player
and wear all the typical noobie clothe and carry a torch also for extra
effect. walk around britain with your young status tag on and ask questions
like how do you recall, how do you open and use the bank. eventually great
people will come to your aid and give you free stuff. i cant get into the
specifics since i am still learning how to scam players but if you really
want to ask an expert, send windsorfox[ss] an email and he will tell you all
that needs to be done.

have fun scamming !!

Yep. One of the poorer fakers we have had amongst us todate. Too
pathetic to even do his homework. I would have settled for a general
description. I mean it's not that hard to tell where your house is.
You told me way back when and I knew exactly which one it was even
without going there!

This guy is a dweebe. And a pathetic specimine at that.

Back when he was using a sig he claimed to be a GM tamer. Oddly, a
search of my shard finds that no such character exists. :)

God, I wish was as complete and well balanced as you are, because only by
becoming someone who spends their time poorly immitating someone on an
internet newsgroup can I attain the zen of good friends, loving partner,
advanced education, successful job, and all round popularity that you've so
easily reached.

Take a look at the origin of that last message... I would suugest we might
all leave ANY reference to this troll out of our posts except where
necessary for clarity....

You realize that it is blatantly obvious every time you post that you are
the troll, right? Your IP address is right there in plain sight. Are you
just really stupid or what?

It's even better if folks would simply killfile the little bastard and
stop responding to him. All he wants is attention.

Maybe you can advise me... OE only seems to let you filter by apparent
address, and he is pretending to use the same one as the real Reg? Other
than using a different mail client, is there around this?

D/L NewsProxy. Also known as "nfilter". While no longer maintained
by the author it's still available.and serves as a news proxy agent.
Instead of setting OE to your news server, set NewsProxy to the server
and OE to Newsproxy. It filters on all available headers from your
news server and either deletes these based on the rules you create or
adds a header field that your news reader can see and filter on.
Great for dealing with crosspost trolls and most forgers. All I did
was set up a rule so that any messages from "Reg Le Crisp" that don't
originate in his IP range are bit-bucketed.

Step #1 - replace OE with a real news reader. I suggest Agent, others
