Everything got renamed on desktop

I was making a new folder on my desktop called "apps" and when I pressed enter to make the file, everything gets renamed to "apps (#)" https://gyazo.com/0c52daa4ce0741aa70818a5ce539e5a0 . After that I tried renaming them one by one. Whenever I rename it, it just creates a duplicate shortcut and when I try to delete the one thats called "app (#)" it shows this https://gyazo.com/092eb36bedea3ab68de9f2df06c03252 . I have no restore point on this computer.

I am taking a backup copy before trying this out.

Edit Did nothing here(my desktop is on my NAS so many it is that).

Could you have had multiple things selected maybe(I do not even see how that could happen).

EDIT EDIT
I just selected a pile of files and folders then right clicked on to rename. It look like only the one would be renamed, but it did exactly what you are seeing. I was able to just undo it with Control + Z, but that only works right away.

I found an alright solution i guess. I renamed all of them then put the duplicates into a random folder. I just doesnt let me delete them. Thanks for fast reply tho

You may be able to use a tool called unlocker to remove files that can not be removed normally. I have not used it on Windows 10 however.
