Hi, My name is Michael and this problem has me scared to turn my computer off... I am new to this so if I am missing any information or am in the wrong section please tell me ^^.
I am running:

Gigabyte Sniper 5 Z87
Core i7 4770k
Corsair Dominator Ram 32 gig
GTX 780
Asus Pheobus Sound Card
Asus PCE AC66

edit:
Forgot to mention I have a SSD for my OS and a HDD for my games/files

My problem is when I do updates or restart my computer it hangs and shows the Gigabyte logo below is a picture of what it looks like.

Now this seems to happen 7 out of 10 times and I have to manually restart and hope it doesn't hang to get into my computer. Typically it does it once and will let me in once I restart again. Now if I may I noticed that once I get in my computer typically doesn't see my Asus PCE AC66 networking card, could that be my problem? If not what do I need to do to fix it and have a more stable system?

Also another thing I was wondering is once in a while my computer will not post and get stuck with a Q code of 97 (console output devices connect (ex. monitor is lighted) stated in the mobo booklet) anyone know what this means?

thank you very much

Solution
PHP:

There's a read error somewhere on the OS disk and it locks up.

Do you have a USB drive or a CD in the tray by chance? Try disconnecting anything attached via USB It might be trying to boot off a USB device.

I thought of that the only thing I question about this solution is that when I get into my computer my files and all my information works fine, I don't have any issues reading and writing to either the SSD or the HDD

Btw thanks for your quick responses, I haven't touched anything on my BIOS also I haven't overclocked my computer at all... Is there a way I can fix it or a way to definitively know that this is my problem? Also the spinning wheel typically spins a little then crawls to a stop... so what you're saying makes sense...
