Okay so since my computer is incredibly old, it has no other way to connect to the internet other than with an ethernet cable to my ARRIS wireless router.
The problem is that the internet on my computer either disconnects randomly in somewhat long intervals or will disconnect whenever my bathroom light is switched off or on.
The bathroom is practically connected to my room and the ethernet cable runs over the bathroom switch to get to my room and to my computer. I've looked online and found that certain lights give off electromagnetic frequencies that may be too noisy for the ethernet cable but the light isnt anywhere close to the cable. So unless light switches can also give off some frequency that may disturb the internet flow then I'm at a complete loss.
I'm not very experienced when it comes to these certain things and there seen to be too many variables that could possibly account for the disconnection that i wont be able to ever figure out, like for example, the make and manufacturer of my computer (I've tried looking for it but it's apparently "unknown" and I dont know where we bought it from since it was years ago and in a different country),the ethernet cable itself may be faulty etc etc.
If anyone has some suggestions or advice it would be greatly appreciated although there's only so much I can do.
