I recently bought a HP omen (w105no , 17 inch) gaming laptop and I noticed that no matter the quality of the video (60fps, 30, 4k, etc, hd, sd) I still get a huge horizontal screentearing, but when I pause the video in that exat moment, the tearing isnt visible. I also noticed that its not there when using firefox , but I still wonder if this might be a fault graphics card? Thats atleast what some people told me when I told them about it.

It looks like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVd_Sq04iPU

try disabling hardware acceleration for chrome.

o disable the hardware acceleration feature of Google Chrome follow the below procedure:
Open Google Chrome.
Click Customize and Control Google Chrome > Settings.
Click on "Show advanced settings" and scroll to the "System" section.
Uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available" and restart Google Chrome.

still same. the tearing is mostly noticed when the motion of picture is moving horizontally.
