EVGA 1070 FTW SLI - help needed

I'm trying to upgrade from EVGA 660 TI SLI to EVGA 1070 FTW SLI.

Old Intel DX58SO2 board with i7 935 with Corsair AX1200 power supply.

Display port to HDMI (1920 x 1200) works for each card if plugged in individually, but as soon as I plug in both cards (with or without SLI connector) the PC will not boot - powers on but nothing else.

I've tried multiple configurations - different PCI slots but no luck.

Any ideas, or is this old board just killing me?
