I just built my PC and the graphics card keeps turning off in a way that makes it impossible to turn of the pc by pushing the power button. The temps are totally normal and it only happens when a game is running.

System:
Ryzen 7 2700x cpu
Asus prime x470 mobo
16gb 3200 ddr4 ram
Evga 1080ti FTW3
Corsair 750W psu

Do I need a bigger power supply? Is it a bad graphics card?

Not OCing the GPU, it only crashes in-game, running windows, built the pc recently but haven't added or changed anything, and all drivers are up to date.

How is it connected to the PSU?

Are you using both PCIe cables or one using the 2 connections?

You should be using BOTH cables.

I'm using both

Ok, what is it doing exactly?

Have you updated the bios?

Have to updated Windows?

Are you using the latest Nvidia driver?

Again, all drivers, software, and os are fully up to date. When I begin playing a game, it will turn off at some point. When it turns off, I'm unable to shutdown the pc with the front button, I have to shut it off from the power supply (yes the button works normally). After that, it usually doesn't happen again until next time I'm playing a game.

OK, now those PCIe cables....

The solid 8 pins goes into the PSU and the 6+2 pin ends goes into the GPU.

You do have both MB power connections plugged in right, the 24 pin and 8 pin?

Okay, and seeing as I am unable to immediately confirm that it won't shut off again, what's the next step if that doesn't work?
