evga 500 w 80 plus i i had Three of these Before and had no noise from them, in this one i got a
clicking sound when listening Close to fan. I noticed in this one it got a plastic cover inside the psu
behind the fan to guide airflow could the noise be reflecting from this ? When i stop fan with screwdriver the sound stops right away. the psu also seem to get louder on load than the other ones i got i do got
real bad airflow in a small hp 3500 case though so that could be the cause. the problem is for sure
with fan or noise reflecting from the fan.
Send back or not?

this guy? I will not suggest or use this guy. not made by EVGA, low quality, base model, el cheapo.

this guy is a better unit all 'round. 5 year warranty and the lowest quality I feel safe suggesting.

this guy here would be my choice at the price point provided. gold rated, high efficiency, seasonic made so it has to be good, and a 7 year warranty.

if you can return the 500white I would.

your screwdriver test, not a good idea for more than a second, shows that something inside is touching the blades as they turn.

i had Three of them Before but the labeling seems different from the earlier ones i bought two years ago so like you saym aybe they changed manufacturer.

thanks for your suggestions im probably going with a coolermaster masterwat lite 500 w though for a budget computer.

for budget they got to be ok? i mean a gold rated psu for a budget build is a overkill. maybe i will get a new evga instead then since their test results
seem better. i hope i just dont get a new bad fan.

Yes i understand that its just a effiency label but still the gold rated psus are alot more expensive, i cant spend that much on this build so a gold rated psu is out of the question i dont question his knowledge about it. thanks for the warning about the coolermaster im changing the evga out for a new one instead and hopes for a better fan. i used Three of the evga w 500 w in budet builds Before and they are all running for 2 + years without issue.

i can see this getting some better reviews than the masterwatt lite.
Cooler Master MWE 400W

what would be the best budget psu in your opinion around 60-70 s?

its not just the efficiency rating.
think of the PSU as the farm that feeds the system, the PSU keeps the power in spec (fruit and veg), out of spec power can and will damage circuits over time like giving a child only sugar, it'll live but diabetes and other problems arise. I know not the perfect analogy, but apropos.

best budget PSU for 70 dollars

gold rated, 10 year warranty, fully modular, superflower made (the only other manufacturer beside seasonic I wholeheartedly support)
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bq...-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020177-na
also 10 year, gold, modular, and an awesome product.

budget but decent - with rebate they are a great buy. no rebate the above golds are the way to go
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/TgW9TW/seasonic-power-supply-m12ii520bronze
bronze, semi modular, 5 year warranty, seasonic made.
