Guys thanks in advance for any answers you render.

Fresh from Newegg I am about to install my new EVGA 122-M2-NF59-TR motherboard. The problem I have run into is this.

My Antec SP-500 Smartpower 2.0 has two connectors for the motherboard. one 24 pin and one 4 pin

The EVGA board I have contains connections for 24 pin and "8" pin. My question is two fold and I at the moment have no idea.

Can I simply connect up the 24 pin and be happy?

Can I connect the 24 pin and then connect the 4 pin (which I doubt is possible) to the 8 pin slot on the mother board?

IF this is pertinent here is the rest of my hardware
AMD x2 5600
4 GB RAM
7800GTX256
300 GB HD
Creative Labs XFI Platinum

Thanks in advance

If you just plug in the 24pin, it won't run properly. 🙁

You need a new PSU with the newer sets of connctors, which will include 24 pin, 8 pin, 6pin(s) for Graphics cards etc. 😀

I figured as much. Being impatient I will have to run to the local Best Buy and spend a little extra as opposed to ordering it online.

Thanks
