I cant decide between the two. This is the build I plan on getting sometime in september. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1dHQ0

Yes I know the Gigabye cards are in there right now but im just too lazy to change it haha. Im gonna have that one 120hz monitor and another 1080p monitor running at 60hz.

Also any suggestions for the build are welcome.

They are good cards and probably even better than the EVGA cards in terms of their upgraded components and enhanced power phase system (the EVGA non-Classified models all use the reference PCB design).

The drawback to a Gigabyte Windforce in SLI is that it blows all its hot exhaust air around inside the PC case. This is true of most cards with custom fan designs. If you have good case airflow, it shouldn't be a problem. At a lower cost, the Gigabyte is the better option. If you're worried about case heat, look for a...

Well if you are running a multi-monitor setup the extra video ram will be helpful especially if you ever plan to upgrade to a high resolution monitor like 2560x1440. I'm not sure how much money is a factor based off your build, but your talking about 50 to 60 dollar difference between the 2 and 4gb. The 4gb seems like the best value for money.

I would go for the 4GB as well.

Never bad to have some room, even if you might not use it.

The card costs so much that this doesnt kills you anymore.

For me GPUs always hit their Memory cap someday.

Do you think the rig will be able to run BF4 on ultra?

I was actually wondering about this too. I don't plan to SLI or run a multi monitor setup. I will however, run a single monitor at 1440p. So my question is: Will 2GB extra VRAM really matter for a higher resolution? If it doesn't or has minimal impact, I'd rather go for the cheaper option, especially since I prefer EVGA as my brand of choice (4GB EVGA is for $510). Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer this!

Huh? That is quite weird. Perhaps it depends on the model of the card? There are like 3 or 4 right? Overclocked, superoverclocked etc. What I want to know is how much of a real world impact does 2GB extra vram have on fps at 1440p.

UnexceptionalJew, your build sure crunch everything, just the have some adjust in your build, H110 have same price and superior than H100i, better get a platinum PSU, yes you will pay more, but most important you get 7 years warranty.
Cosair AX760/760i/860/860i. There also cheap and good gold PSU, XFX 850w BEFX(this is excellent) or XFX 1050 BEFX( this is not good when it reach 1000w, ripple could exceed 75mv) base on overclocker.ru review.

Isn't 850 watts enough? It's gold rated?

Your 850 watt Corsair Professional series is plenty for your system, even if you wanted to overclock and go SLI in the future.

Here's the current worst case scenario for VRAM usage, Crysis 3. Bumping up to a higher resolution monitor will intensify the VRAM situation. Of course, for this particular game, no one is going to be able to run 8x MSAA with a single card. All the same, you can see that 2GB can start to be a limiting factor and the likelihood of new games coming along that exceed 2GB is very real.

What matto17secs said is true,
I apologize of my previous post, right now I make clear that AX850 also have 7 years warranty and have much lower ripple power supply unit than AX860, but corsair AX860 is not a bad choice, but the ripple is little bit higher than AX850, there still excellent job for Seasonic made power supply(Seasonic, Corsair,XFX) though.
Conclusion, AX860 is the choice to go for, you save $20 with mail rebate. Not bad, you get quality platinum PSU.

Hitman Absolution also presents similar issues. I play the game on a 2560x1440 display with everything maxed out with MSAA x8 and a few maps use over 3GB. Crysis 3 uses 2.8GB on 2560x1440 at MSAA x8, so Hitman likely uses about 2.5GB or so on 1920x1080 in the scenarios that I'm using over 3GB on the higher resolution.

So I think im gonna get a 4gb model of a 770 to go in SLI but i noticed that the evga 4gb is way more expenive than the gigabyte one. Are the gigabyte windforce 770 4gb cards a good choice to run in sli?

If you have good case airflow, it shouldn't be a problem. At a lower cost, the Gigabyte is the better option. If you're worried about case heat, look for a card with a blower type fan (the "Titan" coolers are nice) to vent exhaust heat outside the case.

OP, this is my exact dilemma. And for bf4. With 1440p, 2gb VRAM might be an issue, according to the alpha benchmarks.

Only one thing people seem to forget...770 is 256-bit so adding 2gb probably wont help at all. The 780 is 384-bit so it can make use of the higher VRAM.

No point adding VRAM if the bit lanes aren't wider to access it. It's like makin a huge parking lot but only letting one car in at a time. No matter how big the lot gets, its bottlenecked by the narrow lane. So far this has been the case with gtx 770 256-bits having 4gb VRAM.

My prediction... Gtx 770 4gb will have no benefit over 2gb in bf4. Gtx WILL due to 384-bit + more. However, just like bf3, the price jump from 770 to 780 isn't justified by the marginal FPS increase.
