EVGA 780 Superclocked PSU requirements and a few questions

Hello,

These are my rig's config right now:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-3470 Processor
(6M Cache, @ 3.6 Ghz)
GPU: SAPPHIRE HD 7970 OC 3GB GDDR5 (950/1425)
Motherboard: Asrock B75 Pro-3m
RAM: G-Skill Value 1333Mhz 4GB x2
ODD: LG DVD RW
Storage Hardware: Hitachi 1TB & Intel 500 Series 120GB SSD
Case: Sharkoon T28 Green
PSU: Seasonic M12ii Bronze 620w
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium


Will 620w be enough for it? Also, will my current CPU bottleneck this card?

Planning to replace my Sapphire 7970 with it by the end of this year.

Yes, no, and why?
OC the 7970 and wait till the maxwell cards are released so you can see what the newer tech, if any, is about and the 780s will subsequently drop in price.

Planning to replace my Sapphire 7970 with it by the end of this year.

Well the only issue I see with the PSU you have is that it's 2 12v rails each only produce 24A for a total of 576w. I know Nvidia recommends a 12v rail with 42A so you may run into an issue there, but still think it would work okay. If you wanted to be sure, something like this XFX 650w (made by Seasonic) is modular, provides 53A on a single 12v rail (636w) and can be had for $49.99 after promo code and rebate. That is one of the best deals I've see on a power supply in that range all year!

As for your processor... It should handle that card without a problem. Hope this helps!
