Right now i have a i7 4770k and a evga 780 sc acx graphics card with corsair hx850 watt psu. evga has the step up program going on right now and i want to know if i should go ahead and step up to the 780 ti classified. I play games and i do lots of video editing and rendering. I play at 1080p. the reason for the upgrade is that so i can have the best card and hopefully it will be able to play games on high and 1080P for a long time. Do you guys think it would be worth the upgrade and how long do you think the 780 ti classified will be able to play games on high in 1080P. since everything is now going to 4k I think the cards playability in 1080P should last a very long time. I want to last 5 years. thanks guys let me know what you think.

PS(I wont be going anything higher than 1080P in the foreseeable future because I just bought this fancy 1080P ips monitor and spent all the this money on my rig. I just want something that will last a long while with this configuration because it wont change for a long time)

(had to repost because i accidentally pushed "chose as best answer")

Depends on the deal - how much you gonna pay for the 780ti? And how muvh can you get for the 780?

And then it depends on the improvement - say if you get an extra 15 fps in your favourite game when you're already getting 80fps - will you even notice it?

And then it depends on your long term plans - say with 4k. Do you wan to use a 780ti or do you think there'll be something better along by the time you want to play 4k?

Really I just want a card that will last for at least a few years playing 1080P and on high settings. Not necessarily ultimate but at least high. I don't have any plans of going 4k. Do you think the 780ti or my card the 780 sc acx can handle the next batch of high quality games coming out for the next few years in 1080P? Also to get the classified it will be about 150 more.

I don't know if the step-up program is different for you but for me it only included reference cards of which the Classified isn't included.

It's a good card but the ACX cooler is crap. I'm having to return my third 780 Ti now due to issues with the cooler making rattling noises.

If you're 780 is good, I'd say stick with that for now.
