I keep going back and forth about what card I want to buy. I currently game on one 144hz 1080p monitor but I would like jump up to 1440+ in the near future. I will overclock the card as far as I can without making the jump to liquid cooling yet.

Kingpin: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487037

Or should I wait for the new 780ti 6gb? and has anyone seen anything about an expected release date?

You won't need more than 3 GB for only a 1440p monitor; probably only for 4K or multi-monitors.
In one review of the GTX 770 that they did, the 4GB had more frames than the 2GB only for 4K resolution.
I'd say go for the classified, I'd not pay $100 more for just 50MHz higher clocks.(unless you're one of those fanboys who want "exclusive" things in their rigs).
