i recently upgraded my card (i hope) from a msi 7950 to the evga 970 ftw+ version, but I've just had all bad experiences with the new cards, the fps in some games is quite nice, but stuff like Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, its going down 60fps, even my very old gtx 260 would get 100 fps in that. I am unable to find anything that would make the fps any higher. Some help would be greatly appreiacted. my current build is:
Cpu : i5 4670k
mobo: asus h97 PRO gamer
ram: 8 gb

Solution
try some other games. If its just san andreas then new gpu support jst isnt going to be there for it i guess. Test it out on other games like bf4 or bf4 or somethin
Did you do a complete driver sweep of the old AMD drivers before you installed the Nvidia card? I'm 99% sure you are more than likely having driver issues. Also what are your temps? Are you using evga's precisionX software to monitor and also are you playing the games on higher settings? Check and make sure you do not have any kind of vsync, or frame rate limit or target on.

yeah, i have none of the amd drivers left on my pc since i used the amd install manager and it said everything got uninstalled. im not really sure about the temps, but they are below average, and finally, the settings have never changed between the cards so i dont think it would be that
