I'm stuck between the 2, they are both good but the Classified is 20$ more but then again you get 14+3 Phase. Which one?

I probably will end up OCing it and i'll regreat spending that much and not having the potential

the classified is meant for water. if you will not be going with a block then just get the cheapest card you can get. you will still be voltage bottlenecked by the stock bios and then thermally bottlenecked by the stock cooler long before you reach the chips frequency limits. i would skip the ftw model to and just get the cheapest one and overclock yourself.

The SC+ and FTW are the same price so is the FTW better to just go with anyway? Also are you sure you cant get a good OC on the classified without water? I'm not looking for max potential but I still want it to be better than the standard SC+

The classified is not only meant for water but it is designed with water in mind. Yes you can overclock any of them yourself and they will all overclock about the same unless you just get a bad card but for $20 you get custom pcb with better caps and better power phase delivery. The classified will run just like the others on air.

FTW also has a custom pcb, the rest of the evga's sc, ssc and regular one just have the reference nvidia board, caps and such.

I agree with what he's saying and heps right about the overclocks, just depends what you deem worth $20-$30. I'm on the 1000Mhz reference card but I have the hybrid unit and backplate and it hits 1500 Mhz with the reference board and the classified, gigabyte G1, MSI wont go much higher than where I'm at...maybe 20-30 Mhz if they're lucky.

So you're saying just getting a standard SC+/ACX 2.0+ is just as good and saves 20$?

It just depends if the $20 is not a big deal to you. At that price level, $20 to me is not much so I would probably get classified just to make sure I had no regrets or whatever. If the classified was out when I bought my hybrid and I could put the hybrid unit on it, I would have bought the classified for the better capacitors, custom pcb and power phase but even the SC ones were out of stock and I was on a schedule so I had to buy what was left and that was the 1000Mhz one.

It worked out fine though and it overclocks good and it probably wont matter that much but if I wasn't with the hybrid, I'd pay more for better caps, pcb and power phase.

How do you feel about the AMP! Extreme?

It's pretty good I think , it comes clocked high out of the box at 1250Mhz but not sure how the boost translates with it because when they overclocked it to 1335 Mhz, the actual in game boost was 1500 Mhz max. Mine will boost to 1500 Mhz at 1298 Mhz base clock.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, if you do plan on overclocking outside of the factory clocks, evga is the best with warranty because they don't give a sh1t what you do with the card as long as it's returned to factory condition if you have to RMA it.

If I didn't value hybrid above air I would probably do something like this list. Even though I'm not a huge fan of the acx style on evga cards, I'd still put kingpin and classified up there.

Gigabyte G1 or evga kingpin or classified or msi lightning
MSI gaming and Asus strix or directcu
zotac only because I'm not 100% sure about quality and warranty even if it's 5 years if they will honor anything.

I was going to do the Hybrid but I heard a lot about the Close Loop being loud and making noises so I don't think the low temps are worth the 50$ more with the chance of getting one that has problems.

I might SLI in the future and I dont think the Zotac will work considering how big it is, is there any cards that can compete with it and SLI or should I get the Zotac and like buy an EVGA one in the future and SLI them?

Whatever you end up getting will seriously perform just about the same across...When you sli, it will run at speeds of the lowest card. Here's superclocked evga vs zotac amp extreme, same site and same settings on a few games.

It doesn't seem like anything is better than it but I dont know if I can fit 2 in my case.
