Well, to be honest for a second version of G2 units I was expecting more, and while any G2/G2L certainly worth the price, I wouldn't pay $ 30 more for G2L units if I was purchasing it now (I have a 750 G2).

I would love to see more digital interfaces to PSUs like in Corsair AXi series and would pay for that if using a good, open protocol to it instead closed protocol from Corsair.

I'm assuming the depth reduction is something along the lines of cutting out this useless area.

I don't know of any stats or polls out there, but my guess is most people don't spend too much time actually drilling down into details of things like Japanese capacitors and ripple performance when buying PSUs. Wrongly, they see things like "Gold" rated for less money and more wattage and run with it from the more familiar and usual suspect brand names (Corsair, EVGA, Seasonic).

Also where are all the Johnny Guru FSP reviews of the lower powered units? FSP needs to get themselves better known to main stream builders. I see they've gotten their Hydro X prices down more competitive with the G2 series unlike when first introduced back in the Spring when Tom's first reviewed the $80 450W one ($80, $95, and $110 for FSP's Hydro X's 450/550/650 at into). Here are is a current price example of 550W between the two:

Rarely do things sell at MSRP though.
