Evga classified 580 or two evga classified 570s

2 570s in SLI beats a single GTX 580, 2 HD 6950s/70s in CF beats a single GTX 580..
if i were you, i would stick with a single GTX 560ti or GTX 570 for this years until the new AMD 7K series come out, new XDR2 technology is said to be twice faster than GDDR5, and the 28nm process is less power consuming and less heat, besides 1 GHz GPU frequency and 2 GB VRAM

Well, I think you save some money by going with 570s dont you? Performance should be pretty similar (6990 a little faster) but 570s probably have more OC headroom. I'd go with 570s myself ahead of 6990.

Well, they are both amazing setups. I guess your decision comes down to:

Price
Single vs 2 cards (space, case airflow)
Performance (look up some reviews)
570s will use more power (doubt you care about that you bought a 6990)
Drivers (Nvidia usually less driver issues, Nvidia has widespread 3d support, both setups are triple screen (eyefinity, surround) capable.
Overall IMO the 570s are the way to go for resolution up to 2560x1600, 6990 for multi-monitor/mega res (6990 has 2gb per gpu vs 1280M for the 570s).

Hey guys should I get the evga gtx 570 classified sli or go with the ref card zotec gtx 580 sli.

The price is 100 dif total .. I would like to overclock both.. Just not sure if the zotec can be overclocked ?

Well my point is that if your already over 60fps why do you need more.I would reccomned going with a GTX570 SLI so that you can buy a good aftermarket cooler.Cooler temps will allow you to O.C. further.

What is your budget?

What are your full system specs?(CPU,RAM,etc.)?

What is the make/model of your PSU?

I would reccomend getting something like this if your budget allows it.

The cost is not as much aa an issue.. im just thibking for 100 buck nore total go with the 580sli even know its a rev card .. i can prob overclock it to 900 or so ..

Wont the 580 be much faster?

- you're the same guy who started the same thread 2 days ago...
- you've been told that 2 570s will perform better than GTX 580 SLI and would be a way cheaper....
- and i told you myself no need for GTX 580s SLI, wait for the nVidia 600 or AMD 7K series, they would perform better than GTX 590, HD 6990 Due to the new technologies
- so you might get a single GTX 570 and it will max out any game @ 60 FPS, and no need to spend 1K bucks on GPUs that might become a legend

Asking for best answer isn't the way to get it. Help out as much as you can and do your research and you will surely be voted from time to time. Asking is pretty pathetic honestly. It reminds me of those guys on YouTube asking for a thumb up

I am also interested in this. I understand that SLI 570s will be better than a single 580, but where does VRAM come into play?

I am contemplating either getting a 2nd 570 classified or sell it and get a 580 classified 3gb. I noticed in the bf3 beta that I was maxing out my VRAM, but I don't know if I was noticing it due to the bugginess of the beta. When you hit the VRAM wall on a 570 classified 1280 mb (not exact), what should happen? Will the 580s extra VRAM be noticeable?

I would like to play at a 1920x1200 res with some sort of AA on.

VRAM comes into play when you are gaming across multiple monitors or when you game above 1080p. Since you only have 1 monitor, playing @ 1080p, you will not notice any difference between 1gb and 2gb and 3gb at all, except MAYBE MAYBE a couple of fps here and there on the MOST demanding titles when you turn up every setting to the max. Otherwise, no, you will not notice any difference.

I honestly would suggest you go with either two 6970's in Xfire or two 570's in SLI. Both options will blow the 580 out of the water and will also be cheaper. The 6970's should provide better performance over the SLI 570's OVERALL, though not by too much, because of better scaling of the AMD cards, but you can't go wrong either way. I would return that 6990 in a heart beat and get your Xfire on.

In the end though, you will not notice a difference in performance between any of the above listed combinations. Me personally, I have a 560ti and I will be just happy with it. It will max just about anything out except the MOST demanding titles.. of which there are maybe 2 and there won't be anything that demanding for a long time to come, so its all good. When the 7900 HD series come out with XDR2 ram and pci-e 3.0, I will sell my 560ti for about $150.. put down another $150 and get myself a truly badass card.
