The black plate dose it really need to be on or can take it off because looks like an water cooling thing but its hot when i game my temps went to 80 pn gpu so did the msi thing and it cooled it down but just wondering about the black plate thing!
Backplate don’t really make a difference for temperatures but they help protect your card. If you are working with water I would keep the back plate on to help protect if it leaks.

Might keep it on even without working with water but just notice my room gose really hot and my temps with the fan speed on is 50-70 and thats normal for my gaming!
I have an MSI 1080ti and my temps run 75-80 during extreme graphics activity. The fans run at 100% during extremes but the thermal load has never tripped the card off.
Those temps are fine. The back plates are usually on the GPUs to help stiffen them from sagging as much. Well that and a back plate usually looks better then the bare PCB.
