G3 made it in a lower tier than the G2. https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/

But that's arbitrary. Looking at specific reviews of voltage regulation the G3 has better 12V regulation than the G2.

As said, both are excellent.

I would like to know, besides the G2 having a double-ball bearing fan, what makes it score in Tier 1 while the G3 is in Tier 2?? Is that voltage regulation irrelevant?

*Update: Okay, I've got some charts to compare. There are some differences with each performing better/worse in different areas. Both are good though.

Get an EVGA G2/G3 or Seasonic Focus Gold/Focus Plus Gold. It doesn't matter which one. Get whichever you think looks nicer or costs the least. They all get 10/10 in performance and build quality on Johnnyguru.com. The value and features metrics aren't that important. All that matters in features is if it has the connectors and layout you want. All that matters in value is the current price you can get.

While the EVGA GQ is excellent. There was some slight power ripple detected. Knocking performance down to a 9.5/10.

650W or higher is plenty.
