EVGA GeForce 650 Ti 1GB SSC or Saphire Radeon HD 7770 1GB

So i want to buy one of these but I really don't know which one. Everyone says that the EVGA GeForce 650 Ti 1GB SSC is better but the Radeon HD 7770 has a lot of features for gaming, which the GeForce 650 Ti doesn't have it. I'd really like to know which one should i take so please help

Just figure out what games you really would like to play and then check to see which of the two cards play that game the best. Then you can compair prices using the games that you want to play as a reference and decide if maybe one card cost $5 more is worth the extra 1 or 2 fps in a game. Also you see which price point for both cards seems to have a good review ie one brand maybe cheaper but poor build quality.

Here's the problem: The 650 Ti is only 8% stronger and yet costs 17% more. I would say the 7770 is a better deal and the 7850 1GB is far stronger than both and only a little more expensive at $165. However if you want ACIII then the 650 Ti is a great purchase, but the 7850 comes with FC3 witch is easily just as good at the very least...

That is all you need to know. Which of the 3 applies to you?

Well..I just wish that i could run these last games with everything at high ( not super high or something like that ), just something decent so that i can get 50-60 fps. I'm also buying a new processor but i does it influence the game?does it boost it i mean? It's a AMD FX X4 4300, 3800MHz. About the apply, it's a bit complicated..I don't know if it's worth it to spend 13.49 more euros (17.84 dollars $ ) just for 5 fps..But if you guys say that it's much better to buy the 7850 then I'll see what i can do. Thanks for the help and I hope we can keep in touch .
PS: my friend said he has a 650ti and that he got 150+ fps..is that even possible?

It is possible in an older game. My old 2007 card could get 1250fps in a really old 90s game 🙂 7850 isn't quite as amazing as people are making out. It's certainly a capable card, but GTX650 Ti is right inbetween that and the 7770. And it's actually the GeForces that have all the features - nobody has mentioned that the 7770 has no features. If you get a 7850, you're best off getting the 2GB version, but it's barely any price increase then to get a GTX660 which is easily the best of all these cards.

Not true at all, the difference is huge.

Drivers are not up to date, but the drivers can't make up for such a huge leap in performance.

The difference you just showed is tiny lol. It's like 10-20% with the 7770 still winning a couple times. SO yeah with the drivers it is only 8% LIKE I SAID. The point is, there is almost no time a game will be playable with the 650 ti and not the 7770.

EDIT: Also the Radeon only won once, by 2.2%.

I suppose that might be the average, but that was only because a few games gave it a huge boost while the 7770 was already getting a ton of frames. I wouldn't count those as much of win...

Haha I think most of us would 🙂 I see what you're saying, but the gains from a 7850 over the GTX650 Ti are no more significant. That would be the equivalent of stepping up from a GTX560 to a GTX570.

Depends what country you're in. Where I am, 7870s cost more. And only deliver <5% gain interms of frames/second. In other ways, they're lacking compared to the GTX660. So I'd personally let the GTX660 be my limit - diminishing returns beyond that point.

EDIT: And take a look at the benchmark - barely any gain at all from 7870. In AMD-friendly games there may be more gain, while the GTX660 will actually beat it in nVidia-friendly games. Far Cry 3 is the really performance-critical game though - only game I've seen that even a GTX660/7870 can't handle maxed at 1080p.

The Twin Frozr 3 on GTX 660 gets 60 celsius on full load while Twin Frozr 3 on Radeon 7870 gets 73 celcius.

They use same cooler, which Means GTX 660 is a cooler chip. You can't compare 2 GPUs with different coolers on.

Compute being "very useful" is highly debatable 🙂 For non-gaming stuff sure, but in games, PhysX is used in a lot more games than GPU compute (and the usefulness of PhysX is highly debated based on number of games!).

Guys, it seems like i can't afford the 7850 or 660.. it's just too much money. The most money I can spend on a video card it's 145 euros.. It's really annoying because if i put like 50 euros, I can get a much better one and if I put again 50 euros i can get again a much better one than the previous. I am so confused right now..🙁 . Could you guys tell me what's the best video card I can afford with these money and the exact model? At first I wanted to buy the Saphire Radeon 7770 but then I saw the GTX650 TI and i just don't know which one is best for gaming ( Black ops 2 , Assassin's creed 3 and mostly new games ). I also feel pretty embarased because you guys spent all this time trying to figure out the best videocard and I REALLY wanted a gtx 660.. so.. what is the best video card I can get for 145 euros?
