So I am looking at upgrading from my GeForce GTS 250 to EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti. I am just trying to figure out if the new GPU will work properly with what I have now. Stupid question or not, will the gpu possibly be too much for the processor? I just don't want to buy something that will cause me to need to buy more. If there are better options for a gpu I am open to that as well. I game a lot as well so the GTS 250 is really bad for the current games from what I've noticed. I don't really need to run games at max but I'd like to stop feeling like my gpu is about to fry. I play guild wars 2, Rift, and Archeage at the moment.

Dell
PSU: Corsair TX650.
Processor: Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.80 GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB
Model: Studio XPS 8000 (tower)

New GPU possibility - http://goo.gl/Lx0uG4 Link to the EVGA GTX 750 Ti that I am considering.

The 240 is about 9 inches long according to NVIDIA's site. The EVGA 750 Ti you linked to is...
Those 1st generation i7's are still going pretty strong, but to answer your question; the gpu will reach 100% load a long time before that CPU does (in general) and those games you listed shouldn't give either your CPU or a 750ti any problems.

EDIT: Just noticed you have a very decent 650w PSU opening you up to a lot of options, what's your budget?

Thanks for the response. Just making sure nothing will overheat or anything like that. My budget is $200-$300. I am a bit limited on space in that tower though somewhat from what I can tell. The GTS 250 is just about as long as a card I can fit in it. Maybe a little longer but not sure.

The 240 is about 9 inches long according to NVIDIA's site. The EVGA 750 Ti you linked to is only about six inches.

If you can fit a bigger card (what case do you have?), a 760 or 770 would be better for the long term. Take a look at the MSI Gaming N770 or the EVGA 770. Although, you'll need to upgrade your processor sooner or later if you're playing CPU intensive games.
