EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC with or without ACX (love the green LED)

EVGA offers quite the variety of gtx 770 cards. Looking at one with SC already in it. Aside from the memory (2GB vs 4GB) there are essentially three models.

1) with with standard cooling (02G-P4-2771-KR)
2) with the new ACX cooling (02G-P4-2774-KR)
3) with maybe the TITAN cooling ( 02G-P4-3771-KR)

I had been looking at option #2. seems like it got quite good stock cooling and has good reviews. But as I think about my new rig being planned I sorta wanted a green theme. and option #3 above has the GeForce 770 light up in green on the edge, which ascetically should look cool. I cant really find much in the way of performance comparision in #2 and #3 and wondered what your guys views might be.

Depends on your case ventilation.

If you have a less than ideally ventilated case- or plan to buy 2+ cards for SLI, then go with the Standard Cooling (or Titan Cooling, though not available yet)

If you have a well-ventilated case and are only planning to use a single card- go with the ACX Cooling solution

I am planning on using the corsair 350D, not sure if its considered "well ventilated". I plan on 4770k w/H100i. Likely only a single GPU. When I said titan cooling, I might not be correct in the terminology. but I meant this part no: 02G-P4-3771-KR ($459.99) versus the ACX cooler model 02G-P4-2774-KR ($409.99) Not sure I understand the $50 premium on the one. That said I was thinking a green colored theme and liked that the led lit up and was pretty cool looking

I'd opt for the standard cooling solution (not w. ACX) for that case- I believe. Your case doesn't appear to have any ventilation fans, just the outgoing fan in the back of the chassis. Some cases have fanception going on and the fans practically have fans, so it doesn't matter if the ACX cooler dumps hot air back into your case.

The standard cooling is less efficient at cooling the card- but it will push air towards your case's exit fan to ensure heat doesn't build up in your case.

ie. I have this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119194 - with that much air coming in and out of the case- it was a no brainer to go with the ACX cooler- as hot air will just be forced out through any number of outlets.

anybody have any experience with noise levels (low, medium, high) on this versus the ACX cooling models?

Personally I dont really like the standard cooling. To me it seems like they create the custom cooling solutions to make the cards more efficient, which is why i have the 670FTW Sig 2 with two sexy fans, similar to the ACX cooling. If i don't overclock my card (With a Precision X overclock my fan speed would go up to the max level) the noise is hardly audible over any game's volume. At max fan speed it is definitely audible but it's not that bad.
I do think the ACX model would absolutely cool more efficiently than the standard, but i'm not sure about the Titan cooler.

Actually, the ACX cools the GPU about 10-15 celcius more. the AVG temp for the ref 770 was 80 celcius, while the acx was 65 celcius, so adam you are correct.

Hi 😀 I hope this helps. I have recently finished building my rig. I used the Corsair 350d case, the 4670k CPU, 2gb EVGA GTX770 (02G-P4-2774-KR) and the h100i. All of these components together look really slick and I'm happy how it came together especially with the Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM that I used. As for the cooling, it seems pretty well ventilated. I have the front 140mm fan as an intake, the rear 120mm as an exhaust and the h100i as intakes, connect all the fans to the h100i and control them all through CorsairLINK, what I did was set them all to quiet and It works perfectly while keeping down the noise level of the PC overall. As for the GPU, I love it. Looks awesome, great temps, runs absolutely anything I throw at it and anyone that sees it can say that it is a quality product, very happy with it. P.S. - When you're installing the h100i, and if you're getting an optical drive, you're gonna have to use the second optical drive bay as the h100i would simply not fit otherwise, it is a tight fit in the end but you'll manage it.
