I recently got my hands on a GTX 980 Hybrid that has two plugs for 6-pin connectors for the reason that it needs to power the card and the water cooling system. I have a 8-pin to 6+2-pin cord for my old card and was wondering if I could just use this splitter to power the new one. https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-2-Pack-Splitter-Power/dp/B01DV1Z57C/ref=sr_1_10?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1546804533&sr=1-10&keywords=6%2B2+Pin+PCIe+Splitter+Cable. I also found this

Does it matter which one I choose, or is there a better option? If you find a better option please post the amazon link.

Solution

That is a good quality PSU, yes use the second PCIe power cable, that is why the power supply has them.

Platinum Series Fanless 520
(SS-520FL2 Active PFC F3)
ATX/EPS12V power supply
I am now noticing that there might be a second port for an entirely different pcie cord, would this be a better option?
