[SOLVED] EVGA GTX 1050 ti pcie cable or not

I recently purchased the
EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti FTW (PXOC) Graphics Card 04G-P4-6258-KR

However I have seen some people mentioning that you do not need to connect it via the pci e cable, so I'd just like to confirm if this is true or not

most card with pcie power connector populated has a circuit for detecting pcie cable during setup. however every vendor is different.in short, don't expect it to work without the pcie connector.

Some 1050 Ti's do not require extra power(6 pin pci-e). The 1050ti in the link requires extra power.
