Evga GTX 1070 boots as displayport out of range

Constantly having problems with EVGA card GTX1070 showing DP out of range. Have used two different cards. Have used the three different DP ports on the cards. Three different cables and two different monitors. My fix is to simply unplug the cable from the DP port on the card then plug back in. This fix always works, but is really annoying. Anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks!
