Hey Guys,

I just got my EVGA GTX 1070 in and installed it. I started playing some games to test it and within 5 mins, I notice that my card's temp reached 94 degrees. Took a look at the card and notice the fans weren't spinning. I'm not no rocket scientist, but I'm sure it should be a simple plug and play card. I installed all drivers and tried to use evga precision to manually set my fan speed, no luck there. I typically always watercool my gpu, but due to finance I went with just regular aircool so I'm not too familiar with any other steps needed for the fan to work. Any suggestions? or is this card defective? I waited quite a bit of time to get my hands on this card 🙁

Solution
Well something is not right.
See if the option if you have EVGA precision running with the card of 0db is enabled.

If it is you need to turn it off Henry.

The cards fans should start to spin the moment the gpu on the card reaches about 60c in temp.

(4 with fans not spinning is unacceptable if you are on the latest drivers. See if there's a VGA bios update from EVGA, update it, and if it persists, you should RMA teh card.
Have you ever noticed the fan spinnign at all?

Solution

the fans will not spin untill the card is under a heavy load or the appropriate temp is reached
